How to use this test

  1. Set a low volume

    Start quietly, especially with headphones.

  2. Play one tone

Choose a low, mid or high tone and listen for audible output.

  3. Check the route

If there is no sound, confirm the selected browser and system output device.

What we check

The page creates a short oscillator tone only after you choose a control.

Hearing a tone shows that the browser sent audio to its current output route.

What this test can’t tell you

It is not a hearing test, frequency-response measurement, sound-quality rating or speaker-health diagnosis.

Something not working?

There is no sound

Check device volume, tab mute and the selected system output.

A tone is uncomfortable

Stop playback and reduce volume before trying again.
